Board Blog

5’11 18 3/8 2 3/16 squash tail, proton, future fins. This is the board that I rode in the pipeline pro junior contest just last week. I love my Fred rubbles, but when the waves are over head, juicy, and bowly, nothing has quite the drive and hold that a proton does. This board in particular feels really smooth and maneuverable. The proton rides really uniquely to any other board i’ve ridden. They really hold the face of a hollow wave and make taking off late and under the lip much easier. All of the curve in the rocker allows for really tight turns in a small radius of the wave and you hold a rail through carves in places where you cant on other boards. I was riding it with just standard glass am1 future fins and it was the perfect recipe for chunky gums.
