I spoke with Travis several months ago about possibly making a 6 channel single fin of some sort. After a few weeks I forgot about our conversation, but was still pumped on getting him to make me a single fin. Then we were gone, and then I forgot some more… Then last week in Tahiti Craig was getting piped on this 6’6″ single fin and I wasn’t quite jealous, but it definitely got my single fin thoughts stirring again. The other day I went in to CI to say what’s up to the boys at the factory. One of them mentioned that some sort of single fin had just arrived for me that day and they pulled this thing out of the racks. I am sooooo pumped to ride this beauty!!!! 5’10 19 7/8″ 2 3/8 6 channel single fin.
The Rincon Classic is perhaps the best local event in the history of local events. Every year the Santa Barbara community gets together down at Rincon and hangs out for two epic days of waves and good times. This year was the 30th anniversary of the event and It was the first year that I’ve been in town for the event since I was 14. It was also one of the first real surf events Parker and I participated in. We have so many good memories of the event and this year was no different. This year’s comp was dedicated to Daisy Merrick and it couldn’t have been a more awesome year to be here for the event. Thank you to Chris Keet and his crew for all of the hard work that it takes to put this event on. We have a very special community and I’m super grateful to be a part of it!
The ability to tell a story through film, and furthermore capture the unique attributes of a particular culture, is an enormous task that few people can do with success. Our uncle Jason Baffa is one of the few people who can achieve this and he is at it again. He’s previously conceived the ideas of, as well as filmed and directed, Single Fin Yellow and One California Day. This time he chose to direct a film on the surf culture in the amazing country of Italy. He teamed up with Chris Del Moro and after much plotting, a 4 month long adventure, and many many bottles of red wine they have something to show for it.. Thank god we are Italian and were able to be a part of a once in a lifetime project. Here’s the trailer for Bella Vita!
